Ginger Root
Ginger Root is Lotus Root's older brother. While the two grew up with a close relationship, the ultimately became estranged during the fallout of Lotus' secret romantic liaison with Princess Terra of Wu Xing. Although Terra's memories of the Grove and Lotus were magically erased, Lotus remained shunned by the residents of the Grove, who believed he had compromised their safety by repeatedly meeting and going so far as to invite Terra into their sanctuary. Like the others, Ginger resented his brother for this and believed Lotus was acting foolishly by risking their safety. Over time, however, Ginger forgave his brother, especially after seeing how heartbroken Lotus was over losing his love. Ginger realized how alone Lotus must have felt, now without his beloved and any emotional support from his fellow qilins, and the two brothers mended their strained relationship.
Princess Cherry Blossom and Tiger Lily
The twins Cherry Blossom and Tiger Lily are Lotus' daughters. Lotus had been unaware of their existence for many years and only learned about them when he met them outside the Clover Grove as fillies.

Princess Terra
Upon meeting her for the first time, Lotus quickly fell in love with Princess Terra of Wu Xing. The pair met by chance outside the Grove when Lotus ventured beyond its borders to retrieve his lost belongings. Lotus was charmed by her beauty and kindness, having never met someone so open and compassionate to another due to the qilins of his home being strict isolationists even from each other. The feeling was mutual and they began to regularly meet in secret. However, when their liaisons were discovered, Terra was forced to choose between Lotus and her family by the Sage of the Grove, Elder Sorrel. Despite her love for Lotus, she could not bring herself to leave her family and Lotus did not want to be the reason for her never seeing them again. Tearfully, the lovers parted ways and the Elder removed all memory of Lotus from Terra.
Even years after they were separated, Lotus still thinks of Terra fondly.
