Jian Bing (監兵), also called Baihu, Byakko, Bạch Hổ and Baekho is a guardian spirit and one of the Four Symbols. He is a metal spirit and the White Tiger of the West. He represents the west and autumn.
Background
Jian Bing is the ruler of the west and represents the season of autumn. His duty is to protect the western lands from danger. With Ling Guang, Zhi Ming and Meng Zhang, he makes up the Four Symbols and serves Huang Long. As a metal spirit, Jian Bing is capable of manipulating all forms of metal and refined earth. His greatest ability is materializing a full suit of metal armor that covers his entire body, making him appear like a white tiger. He is capable of minor control over lightning due to his metal manipulation, allowing him to direct the flow of electricity.
Trivia
Jian Bing is based on the White Tiger, but was changed to a regular orange tiger to avoid association and confusion with Zhear-Khan, another guardian spirit that is also a white tiger.
Despite this, Jian Bing is still referred to as Baihu. This is because his full body armor is so bright that it makes him appear as a white tiger.
